Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the Intercultural Sensitivity and the Intercultural Competence of students in first and fourth course of Social Work and Psychology from the University of Huelva (2012/13). We analyzed the levels and significant differences of IS according to different characterization variables as well as the dimensions of the Intercultural Sensitivity. Likewise, the overall level of competence and intercultural dimensions intercultural issues intervention and other factors related interest are analyzed. There are no major significant differences in IS or Intercultural Competence, but there are some related to having received training in diversity issues and in maintaining relationship or not with people of foreign origin. Training and contacting are key aspects for appropriate future professional development in diverse contexts and strengthen knowledge on other aspects that arise in these good practices.
