García-Gallo and the Coyanza Council. An Exemplary Monograph
Abstract
The present work intends to study the thesis defended by Professor Alfonso García-Gallo in the centenary of the Coyanza Council, undertaking a methodical and objective analysis on the conciliar Assembly proceedings. Two different versions of these proceedings are to be distinguished: one of Leonese origin and one second version of Portuguese origin, which had been carried from Coyanza to Lusitanian lands by the priest Randulfo, and whose dating did not coincide with the Leonese former version. García- Gallo submitted both versions were submitted to a thorough and shrewd matching, highlighting existing discrepancies between the two versions. After these contributions, García-Gallo kept studying more extensively the said Council, resulting on a monograph published in the 1950 issue of the Anuario de Historia del Derecho Español.Downloads
