The abandonment of a vetton house. The set of bronze objects of Casa 1 from Cerro de la Mesa settlement (Alcolea de Tajo, Toledo, Spain)
Abstract
This paper tackles a set of bronze objects interpreted as the remains of a sítula and a simpulum recovered within a domestic unit from the Cerro de la Mesa vettonian settlement. These pieces were part of a varied deposit of materials, abandoned in the fire that destroyed the house. The characteristics of these bronze objects and the singularity of their context of appearance allow us to propose the intentional disabling of the set as part of an exercise of closure of the living space, linked to the final occupation of the site.
