A 'blacksmith hoard' in the region of Requena-Utiel (Valencia)
Abstract
A set of objects from the Iron Age that could be part of a blacksmith hoard is analyzed. It is composed of various iron objects such as weapons, as ‘falcatas’ and spearheads, some tools and a set of 24 ingots. Also, a fibula made of iron coated with fine silver threads and a silver plate. Although this is a chance finding, the possible interpretations are reviewed and some remarcable objects in the area are presented.
