Assessment of 20 years managing preventive archaeology in Menorca.

Abstract

_{The management of heritage in Menorca has a long history and several significant milestones in terms of the protection of archaeological heritage, especially from the point of view of land use planning and urban planning. However, in this text we expose the circumstances and actions derived from legislation and the approval of certain policy, more focused on the management of interventions on archaeological heritage, and in what is known as preventive archaeology that, unlike the comprehensive management of historical heritage, has a short way on the islands. Due to this, numerous actions have been carried out in Menorca to safeguard its archaeological heritage, which otherwise would have not materialized.
