The role of museums in contemporary society: institutional discourse or participatory museum
Abstract
Since a few decades a recurring catchphrase has been accepted: the museums need changes and those will be produced in the future, in order to be socially significant for the citizens they represent and serve. How to face the changes has lead to interesting considerations in the museology field. There is not a unique approach to a complex question, since is composed by multiple layers that often are adjusted with difficulty. However, in general terms, we can point out that the new proposals will arise and develop in the exhibition practice.Downloads
