El café como espacio para el concierto público en el Madrid de Fernando VII
Abstract
Associated with the concept of publicity (what is public) and closely related to the development and influence of the press on the configuration of the public arena, the café represents one of the most important spheres of analysis for the study of the concert in Madrid during Ferdinand’s restoration (1814-33). The organisation of concerts in café salons became increasingly more common in Madrid. This article examines the most important elements that characterised concert life in Madrid during this period, placing particular emphasis on the changes in the consumption patterns and socialisation that led to decisive changes in musical life in Madrid, a process in which the café became a venue of particular importance.Downloads
