Joaquín Espín y Guillén (1812-1882): una vida en torno a la ópera española
Abstract
The aim of this article is to explain Joaquín Espín y Guillen’s connection to the issue of the creation of Spanish opera, examining his career in nineteenth-century Madrid and analysing the music criticism and the rest of the articles he wrote during his lifetime, especially those published in the music journal he founded during the 1840s, La Iberia Musical.
