Políticas de uso y “posesión” de los cantos entre los pilagá del Chaco argentino
Abstract
This article is a description and analysis of the procedures used by the Pilagá Aborigines of the Argentina Chaco province to obtain different kinds of songs, the role of oneiric experience in acquiring them and the ways in which they are circulated. Both the shamanic and non-shamanic musical expressions that were in forcé before and during their first contact with white society are considered, as well as the evangelic expressions known as “hymns”,“coritos” and other songs created by re-developing the different genres of so-called “folkloric music” that are presently in fashion among the Creole population.
