Abstract
This article offers the complete Memoir Zubiaurre wrote in 1875, after a trip to Italy, Germany and France, as part of the first-year requirements of his grant. It is a very interesting document for the study of Euro - pean music, in which the Basque composer presents an overview of the state of secular and sacred music, music schools, libraries, concert halls, philharmonic societies and the hottest musical polemics in Europe at the time, inevitably accompanied by a comparison to Spanish musical life during the same period and his own com - mitted point of view.Downloads
