La propaganda republicana en París. Adolfo Salazar, la Guerra Civil y "Les Archives Espagnoles"
Abstract
This article reconstructs Salazar’s life in Madrid and in Paris during the early months of the Spanish Civil War, a practically unknown period, which the discovery of new sources has helped to explain. The author reflects on the critic’s political ideas, commitment and actions in the face of the Spanish conflict, from the months prior to the military uprising and during the siege of Madrid by Franco’s troops, to the transference of the legitimate government to Valencia. The details of Salazar’s departure from Madrid to Paris in March 1937 to carry out a Republican propaganda mission on behalf of the Government, his contacts in the French capital and his role as director of Les Archives Espagnoles are analysed here, as well as the reasons that precipitated not only the sudden cancellation of the project, but his forced journey into exile in Latin America, from which he would never return.Downloads
