El sentido de lo religioso en Giuseppe Verdi
Abstract
Religion is a common topic in Verdi, although he always expressed his atheism and anticlericalism. In his operas there is a sense of transcendence in the tragic aspect of the characters. Sometimes arises the Church-State conflict, usual in his time, like in Don Carlos. In this context, his Requiem Mass is no exception. It’s not a trivialization of the religion, but a good example of the religious feelings of himself and 19th Century.Downloads
