Abstract
This article provides information about the traditional religious music that is currently performed in the province of Soria. The classifications of the sound materials as well as the observations about their use, meaning and function have been elaborated from the fieldwork done in the province since 2003. In the article, I to address some historical events that have influenced current developments in religious music today in the province, and also mention some religious musical repertoires used today in Soria. The primary criteria for presenting these sound examples are the genre classifications that I have established, complemented by others that provide the names of the informants and the principal events at which the field recordings were made and, as a result, a notional calendar of festive events at which traditional music is performed.Downloads
