La ficción audiovisual como nuevo escenario para la Comunicación Política
Abstract
During the last few decades, Political Communication has grown both as a practice and academic discipline. Usually, in this field researchers have highlighted how news media portrait politicians and political issues, how politicians develop strategies intending exposure to the media, and how audiences react to those inputs. However, today fiction appears as a new arena where politicians, citizens and the media can interact following other patterns and mechanisms. Films and TV shows are working with political topics and reaching large audiences. From the scholar view, there is no systematic study of this new genre and its relation to Political Communication. In this paper, we try to start a line of studies in such direction, stressing possible insights to explore in Political Communication in this area, including the theory of Political Communication, the theory of effects, the trends currently dealt with in the field, and the connection between reality and fiction.Downloads
