Cultural Industries, Diversity and Pluralism in Latinamerica
Abstract
Departing from a short introduction to the cultural diversity issue, in this paper they are presented some of the main points of discussion and interest in Latin-American agenda, about the role or roles played by cultural industries, specially the so called audiovisual media, in social, cultural, political and economic processes in the subcontinent, characterized by the dialectic between concentration and diversity. The empirical data are not exhaustive, but mainly significant. There is a bias towards audiovisual media due to the author’s research field.Downloads
