Some ways to the economy of Communication: a Latinamerican perspective
Abstract
This article reconsiders the contribution of Argentinian researcher Heriberto Muraro who in the 80’ s outlined, from the critical analysis of Political Economy of Communication –and the development of Cultural Industry as the research focus, a proposal of memorandum or priorities agenda for the Latin America specific field. From the processes of globalization, convergence and dissemination of information and communication technologies produced in the last two and a half decades, taking into account the mutation in the productive processes of the area, the research presented in Latin America is compared with Muraro’s contributions, which are reformulated and discussed. Moreover, we propose a classification of the main contributions of the Political Economy of Communication framework in the region.Downloads
