Jarabe de persuasión para la desafección política
Abstract
Roberto Rodríguez Andrés shows from the first lines of his vast study on political persuasion the situation suffered by contemporary democracies: disaffection; citizen weariness; distrust of politicians; rise of populisms and radical movements; and the progressive polarization and tension of public opinion. The author suggests that political communication can solve, or at least mitigate, this kind of credibility crisis. Rodriguez concludes by warning that assuming persuasive practice implies that citizens are treated with dignity as equals, carry out an active listening process, and therefore get involved, collaborate and participate in politics beyond the appointment with the polls.
