Abstract

Sound narratives find in the interactive narrative a new creative field to generate new expressive experiences. Within the broad field of Digital Storytelling, Internet technology allows the construction of interactive stories in which sound design and musical language play a fundamental role, sometimes protagonist, in the development of new models of multimedia and interactive storytelling. Through the narrative analysis of a sample of cases, selected from an own census developed through the selective search of paradigmatic examples, we propose a classification of interactive sound stories that allows a first approximation to its narrative functionalities.
