The algorithms of our lives
Abstract
The author reflects upon the arrival of new categories of elements in media studies, and how software and programming codes of digital language have come to mass culture to change dramatically our ability to analyze and to criticize the evolution of culture. He pleads for the consideration of software as a performative act of speech, considering it dynamically. And he remarks the need to acquire the competence to understand critically the dimensions of power that this new instrument of communication has over our lives.Downloads
