Abstract

In March 2001 it took place an International Congress in the History Institute of the Top Council of Scientifics Research of Madrid, on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the sending of a set of Spanish naval squads to Ireland during the reign of Felipe III and the Kinsale Battle. In order to analyse the Spanish naval intervention in Ireland and its effects in the military, politics, religious and cultural scope, a number of important experts of different European Universities took part in such event.
