Houses and Things in the Western Galicia, 18th Century
Abstract
This article develops in three levels: a) the problems of the documentation to study the rural and urban houses in the 18th century; b) the size and the characteristics of the rural houses of the western Galicia; c) the houses of the cities -Santiago de Compostela and Coruña-. A comparison is done between the housings of both areas; those of the nobility and the peasants; and those of the rich merchants who turned into an influential sector during the second half of the century. In addition, the routes by means of which goods were accumulated in the houses.Downloads
