Digital matriarchs on YouTube: Case study on platform
Abstract
This article shows a case study carried out around the figure of the matriarch over time and how it has evolved in Spanish society with the appearance of platforms such as YouTube where the subject is able to surround himself with all those elements that make up his reality social and at the same time is supported by an audience that follows its daily life. The case study takes as a reference the prototypes generated as a result of the evolution of women in Spain and applies them on YouTube channels to analyze the content related to motherhood and its behavior patterns according to the conversion of social data. In this way, the results obtained allow us to launch the hypothesis that the concept of physical matriarchy has been transferred online, valuing an unknown ecosystem until very recently.
