Places, memories, ties: Comparisons and suggestions from Josep Pla and Cesare Pavese.
Abstract
A Piedmont’s inhabitant always finds a great familiarity with the Catalan hills and its vineyards; furthermore, the rough outspokenness of the population increases that kind of feeling. The work is based on the comparison between El carrer estret by Josep Pla and La luna e i falò by Cesare Pavese, two unmissable authors of the twentieth century for Catalan and Italian literature. Through the lines of these novels, the real life is confused through memory and dreams, opening the doors to a constantly changing world.
