The ellipsis in medical documents. Interpetative problems.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to describe elliptical structures in Italian medical documents and also to show interpretation challenges that may rise due to the presence of ellipsis. The author focuses on the question of ellipses analysed from a practical point of view which aims to indicate some critical points determined by the use of ellipses in specialized texts. A brief theoretical part is followed by examples taken from medical documents in which different types of ellipses may be identified.
