A genealogy of the life and work of Raymond Williams

Abstract

This theoretical analysis seeks to analyze, on the one hand, the immersion of the work of the Welsh thinker Raymond Williams and, on the other hand, the approach to what we can call British Cultural Studies, a plausible methodological and political proposal by virtue of our thinking present with a different look and sensitivity to what has been widely characterized as «presenteeism» or canceled futures. To do this, taking up the work of a thinker partially forgotten in recent decades, will not only allow us to glimpse possibilities of thinking about a diverse future, but it will also force us to take into consideration a highly suggestive toolbox that he ended up defending with nuances, contradictions and incorporations until the end of his life in 1988.
