Abstract

: In this article we will present the intervention and research of this art mediation project called “We All Are Art”. Te main aim of this article is to bring art closer to the young who present an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), using it as an expressive and multidisciplinar resource based on the experimentation with plastic materials improving better communication skills and social interaction. Therefore, a proposal for artistic mediation with young people with autism spectrum disorder has been designed and implemented in the Autismo Somos Todos´s association in Cartagena. Variations in verbal and symbolic expression showed by people suffering from an autism spectrum disorder hinder communication with their social environment. Therefore, we will observe the power of plastic expression as a tool to promote their imagination, abstraction and significance of the world. It can be concluded that the art provide numerous expressive, communicative and social skills, which makes it especially relevant in the juvenile stage of autism.
