About editions and corrections: Ibn Sāhib al-Salā, Cofrentes and the ancient route along the valley of Magro river
Abstract
In 1969, Ambrosio Huici published the Spanish translation of al-Mann bi-l-Imāma, by Ibn Sāhib al- Salā. In this translation, a place called “Confluence of the rivers” in the original was identified as the Valencian town of Cofrentes. In this article I try to prove this is wrong, and I offer as a more possible alternative a place between Requena and Yatova (Valencia). The identification of this place is based on the existence of an ancient road along Magro river valley and the distances data provided by Ibn Salā.Downloads
