The evolution of arab dialects: sociolinguistic and quantitative study (the case of Algeria)
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyse the Algerian Arabic language, which, despite its constant evolution compared to the Arabic language and the French language, is not recognized as an official language, but rather as a dialect. Thus, a descriptive-quantitative study has been carried out in order to understand this linguistic situation. This research work therefore aims not only to contextualize sociolinguistics but also to carry out an analytical study through a questionnaire to collect the linguistic preferences of the Algerian people. The results obtained allow us to identify the areas in which the dialect is most used and help to improve the planning of language policy in Algeria.
