Resumen

Biographies of the Arabic poets, used by anthologists to explain the meaning of the verses, have a crucial importance in the proper understanding of their poems, which is even more evident in the case of Ta’abbata Sharran. In this paper I comment on the most important aspects of his life within the context of the social environment of his time and his influence on both Arabic and Western critics
