Abstract
Mexican writer Federico Gamboa, one of most prestigious novelists in Latin American Realism and Naturalism, stood out because of his regular writing of diaries and other memoirs such as Impresiones y recuerdos. A particular interest in these pages is the testimony on different European countries visited along Gamboa’s life as a diplomatic. In this paper we analyze Gamboa’s picture and interpretation of those European nations, from his political or aesthetic prejudices -strengthened or modified by experience-, and his comparison to American reality.Downloads
