Abstract

This article analyzes comparatively the novel Niebla by Unamuno and the short story “Las ruinas circulares” by Jorge Luis Borges. In both texts we can find a mise en abyme which supports an image of life as the dream of a superior being. The narrative structure therefore represents a view of the world that is here, in our opinion, consciously opposed to the one presented in Genesis´ creation myth.
