Darío and the Twentieth Century
Abstract
Darío is the key poet of the changing of the centuries, but he is above all the poet of the twentieth century who opens the gates of tradition so as to renew it and in books such as El canto errante paves the way to be followed by poets between the wars. The Nicaraguan is also the most widely published poet of the twentieth century. The commercial interest in his literature arose after his death, as can be seen by the different attempts to publish his «complete works» after 1917. The twenty-first century must be that of Darío as a writer of prose.Downloads
