The Loss of the Kingdom and Cantos de vida y esperanza
Abstract
Following Cantos de vida y esperanza, Rubén Darío deepened the personal reviewing of his works which always accompanied his poetic mission. The decisive re-elaboration of his poetic production in this period reveals inner conflicts closely tied to his affirmations of the union between Spain and Spanish America. This article rereads significant texts such as his first two «nocturnos», «Lo fatal» and «Epístola a la señora de Lugones» in its examination of the extent of this new poetic reorientation in Darío.Downloads
