Abstract
The interest of Álvaro Mutis in the reading and renovation of genres from the past can be seen in his own incursion in the adventure novel. He detects the necessity of myth and the epic, but at the same time the impossibility of heroism in contemporary life. His production develops all the elements of postmodern melancholy and becomes an elegy for the loss of protecting tales from the past and for the failure of classical adventures and epics.Downloads
