Continuidad de la renovación poética hispanoamericana: la metáfora y el ritmo en José Martí y Nicolás Guillén
Abstract
The article aims to show that the modernist and avant-garde renovations of José Martí and Nicolás Guillén are formulated within the Hispanic literary and linguistic tradition. Thus the figures of speech and the use of rhythm in both poets, although they offer renewal in their fields, are not indebted to other literatures. The author relates this characteristic of the two Cuban poets to their common interest in conserving the communication with the reader, hich in its turn is related to the extraliterary function that hey both wish to fulfil in their works: didactic, in the case f Martí; testimonial or of protest for Guillén.
