Abstract

The article offers biographical information on Dr. Herman Prowe, Rubén Darío's only known German friend, whom he met in El Salvador in 1890. En las Cartas desconocidas de Rubén Darío, editadas recientemente por Jorge Eduardo Arellano1, aparece el doctor Herman Prowe, autor de una violenta requisitoria en contra del presidente guatemalteco Manuel Estrada Cabrera, citado por Darío en una carta dirigida al presidente nicaragüense José Santos Zelaya. Este amigo alemán de Darío --el único que se cono 1 Cartas desconocidas de Rubén Darío (1882-1916). Compilación general: José Jirón Terán. Cronología: Julio Valle-Castillo.
