Abstract

This essay analyzes, from a gender perspective, the notions of violence, identity and power in four Mexican narrators of the XXI century. To this end, an analysis has been made, semantic-formal and thematic-discursive, of four works: “Total” by Sylvia Aguilar Zéleny, “La desaparecida” by Mayra Luna, “¿Te gusta el látex, cielo?” by Nadia Villafuerte and “Soñarán en el jardín” by Gabriela Damián Miravete. In this corpus, both aggressions against women and gender-based violence have been studied, covering in its entirety the practices that subjugate and even depersonalize women. The objective of this essay is to demonstrate how female identities are configured as a result of the different forms of violence of which they are victims; as well as the resources used by the authors to redefine the notions of violence and power in both private and public spheres.
