Abstract
Starting from the short friendship between Rubén Darío and Camille Aymard in 1903, we try to reconstruct the life of this young lawyer who grew into an enigmatic and sulphurous figure, both fascinating and repulsive, in the context of colonialism and the process of decolonization which marked French history during the first half of the XXth century.
