The filiation narratives and its Hispano-American avatars
Abstract
In this contribution we propose to reflect on the way in which the form of the narrative of filiation is inscribed in contemporary Spanish-American literature. If the applicability to a foreign corpus of a concept forged first and foremost to analyze French works must be questioned, we will see that the general scheme proposed by Dominique Viart has already been used by different critics of Spanish-American literature. We will review these different uses and highlight the similarities and differences between the French and Spanish-American corpus. Finally, we will present the sub-corpus of Hispanic-American filiation narratives that we have called "critical investigations of mourning" and outline its main characteristics.
