The Reception of García Márquez in China: from the Great Cultural Revolution to the Root-seeking Literature
Abstract
The critical reception and the literary influence of García Márquez in Chinese contemporary literature have remained forgotten for a long time, because both the Hispanic intellectual world and the Chinese are quick to consider this topic an object worthy of study. With this work we would like, on the one hand, to dissect, analyse and present the critical reception of the Colombian Nobel in the Chinese literary world; and to examine, on the other hand, how the García Márquez´s novels influence the narrative creation of Chinese writers from the Root-seeking literature.
