Abstract
On the occasion of the commemoration of Amado Nervo’s death in 1919, the present article deals reflects on the poetic and personal confluence of two authors professing a mutual admiration: Amado Nervo (Tepic, 1867-Montevideo, 1919) and Juan Ramón Jiménez (Huelva, 1881-San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1958). The Modernist movement and the pursuit of pure poetry, as well as the personal ups and downs of both writers, are some of the aspects that feature in the work of two poets with common poetic lines
