Abstract
This article compares four printed versions of Rubén Darío’s fantastical story El caso de la señorita Amelia. It concludes that the most authentic is the least known version, published in the daily La Nación, Buenos Aires, 1894, while the later, better known ones represent different stages in a process of textual corruption. It includes a transcription of the story based on the original version in La Nación, along with notes identifying the sources used by Darío, mostly French theosophical books of the time.Downloads
