Literature "deviant". A reception of naturalism in the literary press of the late nineteenth century in Colombia

Abstract

This article proposes a reading of the reception of Naturalism and Émile Zola school in the press on literature published in Colombia in the late nineteenth century; at once, building the horizon of expectations from these modern aesthetic proposals are received by writers and critics of the country. It shows that reactions to naturalistic poetics are related to ideological positions of groups and institutions who hold power.
