“Agencia”, by Rubén Darío: from the humorous poem to the prophetic poem

Abstract

This article tries to identify the newspaper articles as well as the occult books which inspired each of the verses of “Agencia”, a poem published in El canto errante, and arrives at the conclusion that the poem, beneath its humoristic surface, has a hidden esoteric and apocalyptic dimension.
