In spite of Morelli: "62/Modelo para armar" by Julio Cortázar between figures and oneiric causality
Abstract
After emphasizing the peculiar nature of the novel 62/Modelo para armar, born linked to a previous theoretical discourse (chapter 62 of Rayuela) and complicated by a successive one (essay La muñeca rota, in Último round), this study examines the degree of autonomy of the novel from the wide paratext which surrounds it and proposes an analysis approached from the reception point of view. For the reader who tackles the novel without knowing the theoretical discourse in which it is inserted, the defeat of psychology predicted by Morelli in Rayuela does not seem to be fulfilled at all: the text examination intends to demonstrate that it is based, on the contrary, on a radicalization of subjectivity and on the triumph of a causality that in freudian sense we could call ‘oniric'.Downloads
