Abstract
The aim of this article is to examine the concept of autofiction and identify the metafictional techniques employed in Renato Cisneros’s Peruvian novel *La distancia que nos separa*. Our ultimate goal is to determine whether this is an autofictional novel and to identify the assumptions and conditions from which the author proceeds in constructing his text.
