"Nulle part dans la maison de mon père" : the impressive execution of Assia Djebar
Abstract
Nulle part dans la maison de mon père marks a turning point in the work of Assia Djebar as long a memory opens up to her most personal part where the self, freed from the imposed order, is summoned to show its. Acoustic acuity is added to that of the gaze when it comes to piercing the infinite space she covets. Dispossessed of all anchorage in her father’s house, the narrator carries out the definitive attack against what is forbidden to her and claims a place for herself, for her speech, for her body, for her enjoyment, for her own writing.
