The Singularity of the Theopoiesis. The Theological Discourse in the Poem "Dieu"
Abstract
Victor Hugo’s poem titled Dieu was never published in his lifetime. He wrote it for more than thirty years, but it was left unfinished. However, it is an important work because it deals with his theological conceptions. This discourse is built on fragmented aesthetics, founded on a theory of the ineffable. This poem offers an internal dialogue where God is talking to Himself, and where the human being realizes that he is both nothingness and a potential poet. The world’s illusion is produced by the palingenesis of the word and the metempsychosis of the ideas spread through the matter. His writing activity depends on his beliefs and his “divine” mission.Downloads
