Equatorial Guinea’s Fang Woman between modernization and Tradition
Abstract
This study aims to hightlight the current undervaluation of Fang women and her marginalization in the Spanish antropological studies. The authors attempt to unravel the historical dynamics that not have allowed women to disentangle themselves from a history of subordination whose androcentric paradigm is still crucial today. The reflection that we will carry out in these pages try to identify the cultural elements of the tribal tradition that objectify women (as dowry and poligamy) as well as to isolate possible historical causes and their perverse effects on women and society.
