Philosophy without exploitation. Towards another practice of philosophy
Abstract
Throughout his work, Louis Althusser commits himself with different conceptions of philosophy. In his 1976 lecture, delivered at the University of Granada, Althusser completes the self-criticism process that led him to reject his initial thesis and to introduce the notion of exploitation as the key concept to understand philosophical practice. The aim of this work is twofold. First of all, it is to clarify the link that Althusser establishes between philosophy and exploitation, making explicit the way in which philosophy exploits social practices and sciences. Secondly, we propose to offer a reading of the new practice of philosophy outlined by Althusser as a socialist and democratic practice of philosophy.
